Our Heavy Lift fleet numbers are on the rise, this month we welcomed our newest crawler crane, a Tadano 400 tonne (CC24.400-1), equipped with industry leading technology. The 400 tonne is one of five new crawlers on the order books for the year.

“We’ve invested in further diversifying and expanding our heavy lift and shift fleet to meet the needs of the industry and upcoming pipeline of work,” said Dave Muirhead, Heavy Lift Technical Services Manager.

The latest arrival of the Tadano 400 tonne crawler comes complete with latest generation operating systems that we’ve not worked with before but will add significant value from a usability and safety point of view once trained in the system.

A team of crane operators and supervisors spent a week at the Tadano workshop shop undertaking training on the new crawler, which included building the crane in the yard, time in classroom and most importantly time in the cab getting equipped with the knowledge and tools to operate the crane. By all account the team got significant value out of their week at the Tadano workshop getting certified.

“The fleet investment has been done strategically to complement the existing fleet and set the business up to support the upcoming opportunities in the Australian resources market. We’ve got five additional crawlers, three hydraulics and 36 lines of self-propelled modular trailers (SPMT) arriving over the course of this year,” said Dave.

The fleet will grow to add:

  • 2 x 400 tonne Tadano crawlers
  • 1 x 1,600 tonne Tadano crawler
  • 1 x 700 tonne Liebherr crawlers
  • 2 x 300 tonne Liebherr crawlers
  • 2 x 220 tonne Tadano hydraulics
  • 1 x 250 tonne Tadano hydraulic

With these additional cranes complementing the existing fleet, we have improved flexibility to meet the array of maintenance, shutdowns and construction projects across mining, energy, resources, and infrastructure markets.
