In December 2010 Angie Jorgensen joined Monadelphous on a 12-month contract as a purchasing officer to cover a maternity leave, now more than 12 years later Angie is a Senior Project Administrator in a permanent role.

“After working 15 years in the travel industry, I wanted a change and the short-term contract with Monadelphous was the perfect opportunity to try something different and it’s turned into a great 12 years,” she said.

Angie is very grateful for the opportunities she’s been given and the growth she’s had since joining Monadelphous and making the move into the mining and construction industry.

“I feel incredibly fortunate to have found a career in an industry that challenges me, allows me to grow, and work with fantastic people.”

“No day is the same in my role and I’m always up for a challenge so there’s different things each day that I can problem solve and work through.”

“It’s made better by the amazing team I am surrounded by; I love the team I work with, and everyone is more than happy to help each other out when needed.”

Outside of work, you can find Angie running or at her local CrossFit gym, as well as spending time with her family, friends, partner and her dogs.

With International Women’s Day recognised in March, we asked Angie if there’s any advice she’d like to share with other women in the industry.

“Give it a go, you won’t be sorry. My role offers so much diversity and you are always continuing to grow and learn.”

“I think you need to be brave, jump in and try different things because it can be a life changing move and you don’t know unless you give something a go.”

“It makes your work so much easier when you are surrounded by good people and that is what I have always had in my role,” Angie finished.
