Leadership Updates
1 Minute Read

Welcome to this month’s edition of Ramp Up. I hope those who were able to take some time over the Easter break to rest and recharge as we continue to forge through our big year ahead.

We recently undertook a stand-down for safety across the business unit in response to an increase in safety incidents and near misses, which is a trend that needed to be addressed to improve our safety standards. This stand-down for safety allowed the teams to reflect on the issues they face in the field each day and identify some of the contributing factors. I would like to thank everyone who led and took part in these sessions, and I am very pleased with the level of discussion and feedback received. We are working to implement the suggestions put forward to provide further mitigations and therefore incident reductions in the field. Safety is our top priority, and we want everyone to return home safe and well from the workplace.

In this edition, we catch up with Kara Wicks, one of our Senior Project Administrators, who started her career in airport terminals and turned her interest in the FIFO lifestyle into an exciting career change.

In February, our Northern Endeavour team was awarded the M&IS Teamwork Baton – with safety at the forefront, the team overcame complex project challenges and effectively worked together to deliver solutions. Congratulations again to the Northern Endeavour team.

Last month, we celebrated International Women’s Day (IWD) at Monadelphous – in addition to the company-wide activities and online roundtable, in Energy, we marked the occasion with a morning tea and discussion around what the theme ‘March Forward: For ALL Women and Girls’ meant to us and how we can best turn our commitments into action. Over in Darwin, we recognised some of the incredible women on our team as part of our IWD Awards, which are aligned with INPEX’s IWD Awards.

More recently, we were delighted to be able to support the WA Futures team competing at the Softball Australia Under 14 Boys Regional Tournament. The team won six of nine games, finishing third among the state teams – congratulations on a fantastic tournament!

Finally, I’m pleased to share that the much-anticipated second instalment of the M&IS podcast is now live – the theme for this episode is East v West, and if you want to find out the winning name for the podcast, tune in via the links below:
