Learning to be Safer Together

Monadelphous' commitment to fostering a culture of safety and knowledge sharing was brilliantly showcased at Safer Together's inaugural Health and Safety Representatives Lunch and Learn session in April.

HSEQ Manager Emma Gauld spearheaded the event, in which our team led the way in sharing their experiences and stories.

Alongside Emma, Rope Access Coordinator Chris Maguire and Painter / Blaster Anthony Hurliman represented Monadelphous.

Emma said that the initiative stemmed from the Safer Together HSER Working Group, where a need to proactively create events for networking and learning was identified.

"At the last Safer Together HSER Forum in October 2023, the representatives expressed a desire for more connection and skill-building opportunities," Emma said.

"We decided to try a lunch and learn session, and it was heartening to see Monadelphous HSERs stepping up, leading the way and participating."

Safer Together is a non-profit organisation led by members of operating and contract partner companies in the Australian energy production industry, with the goal of preventing harm to frontline workers by simplifying, standardising and sharing.

"It was a great first session and I am immensely proud of our HSERs for their willingness to share experiences and support each other," Emma said.

Looking ahead, Emma said there are plans to hold future sessions, including a HSER forum in Darwin this June and another lunch and learn later in the year.

"We hope to see HSERs beyond Monadelphous inspired to share in the next session, as we continue to gain momentum," Emma said.

It is great to see our teams setting a precedent for industry-wide collaboration and knowledge exchange, reaffirming our commitment to safety and leadership.
