Business brief
Alastair Reid
M&IS Executive General Manager
Earlier this year, the M&IS Teamwork Baton travelled to Woodside’s North Rankin Complex to recognise our offshore projects team for consistently achieving exceptional outcomes across three core pillars - fabric maintenance, inspection and project delivery.
The team has completed a substantial volume of work together over the past year, including more than 900 maintenance orders in 2024 alone. The numbers on this are impressive, as it equates to around 378,000 site hours, includes the application of 20T of anti-corrosion and fire protection, and some 2,000 sqm of deck remediated. They work tirelessly, often in high-risk environments, to make genuine improvements to the offshore facilities.
One recent example was the refurbishment of the platform’s Flare Bridge, which marks a significant milestone for both the customer and the project team. Planning for this complex task began in 2012 in response to a request from the regulator, NOPSEMA, to develop and implement a plan to complete fabric maintenance on the Flare Support Structure and access bridge. This scope included primary and secondary structural elements, handrails, walkways, and cable and pipe supports.
Through their combined skills and expertise, the team continue to ensure asset integrity at WGAP while achieving substantial cost savings through ongoing improvement and innovation.
Well done to the WGAP offshore projects team for always delivering to a high standard for our customer, making you well deserving winners of the baton.
