Earlier this year, Project Manager Carl Drogan and some of his team travelled to China to visit the integration yard for Scarborough Energy Project’s Floating Production Unit (FPU).
“This trip was important as it was first boots on the ground for Monos’, as well as an opportunity to get familiar with the facility,” Carl said.
“It was also important for strengthening and building on our relationship with the customer. The project is fast paced, and we want to work collaboratively with the customer to ensure successful execution of our scopes.”
Monadelphous was awarded the contract for multidisciplinary services associated with the hook-up and commissioning of the FPU, which forms part of Woodside’s Scarborough Energy Project in May this year.
The offshore execution phase includes the installation of pipe spools, structural components, scaffolding, rope access systems and instrument and electrical equipment and installation and testing.
The Scarborough Energy Project is over 86% complete and is targeting first LNG cargo in the second half of 2026.
Once complete the FPU will be moored 375km off the coast of Karratha, Western Australia. The Scarborough Energy Project is set to produce up to 8 million tonnes of LNG per year and contribute up to 225 terajoules a day of domestic gas supply into the Western Australian market.
