On September 14, we took the time to acknowledge R U OK? Day and check in with each other.
With this year’s theme being ‘I’m Here to Hear’, we came together in our offices and across our operations to lend an ear to our workmates, raise awareness of mental health, and break down the stigma around asking the question, are you okay?
Around the business
In the Perth office, we held an R U OK Café, sharing a chat over 350 coffees and Kit-Kats, and the Brisbane office hosted a morning tea with R U OK? themed cupcakes.
In Cape Lambart, we engaged with our team members and the customer on a range of onsite activities, while over in Hope Downs, Rob Forrest organised a BBQ for the HD1 crew.
On the Christmas Creek Overland Conveyor and Transfer Project, the team recognised R U OK? Day with a BBQ, giving a special acknowledgement to Brett Reynolds. Brett has always made the effort to be available to his colleagues, to talk about mental health or just to have a friendly catch up.
Lastly at Goodwyn Alpha, the crew had a great joint initiative to highlight the importance and impact of the day!
These are just some examples of the fantastic engagement we saw throughout our operations. Thank you to everyone who got involved and helped support their workmates to talk more openly about mental health.
Don’t forget, if you do need someone to talk to, all Monadelphous employees and their immediate families can access our Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Our EAP can be accessed for personal or work-related issues - designed for short-term psychological assistance.
Visit our EAP page for more information on our provider, PeopleSense, and how to access support.
