Fin-tastic Finish
Our Port and East Pilbara Operations team has achieved a major milestone by successfully completing the Flying Fish Automated Road Train Facility.
The project kicked off in April 2024, and the team did an exceptional job, finishing on time and within budget.
One of the standout achievements was logging 80,000 hours injury-free on-site at Eliwana—a safety milestone that everyone involved should be incredibly proud of.
Nick Raffan, Mining and Minerals North West Region General Manager, was full of praise for the team.
“Our team have made a phenomenal effort and this showcase of our multi-disciplined NPI capability has not gone unnoticed,” Nick said.
“Well done and congratulations to everyone involved!”
This achievement was marked with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and BBQ to celebrate the project’s success.
It’s not just a moment to recognise the team’s technical prowess but also to appreciate the strength of partnerships we’ve built along the way.
A Track Record of Success
This project is part of a series of successful collaborations with our customer, including previous work at Eliwana, where our team delivered camp design and installation packages at Eliwana Kartijiri Camp and the Flying Fish Rock Chutes. The completion of FF ART, alongside ongoing works at the Eliwana Warehouse Mezzanine, showcases our multi-disciplined Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI) capability.
Growing NPI Capability
NPI has been a growing area for our business, and projects like Flying Fish reflect the increasing demand for infrastructure that supports mining operations, from camps to power stations. This project was a major part of our customers expansion efforts and gave us the opportunity to flex our capability across multiple scopes—from refurbishments to infrastructure modifications.
