Twenty years ago, a dedicated and talented young engineer named Mayuran Thanigasalam took his first steps into Monadelphous, unknowingly embarking on a long journey that would leave a lasting imprint on the company and its people.

Throughout his career, Mayuran has contributed significantly to the Maintenance & Industrial Services (M&IS) and Engineering Construction (EC) divisions across various locations and projects and built strong relationships with many of our key customers.

Mayuran's career with Monadelphous began in May 2003 when he joined as a Vacation Student. Mayuran was so impressed by the opportunities and work environment that he knew he would return. True to his word, Mayuran rejoined us in July 2004 as an eager young Engineer in our EC division, where he worked on the Dampier Port Upgrade Car Dumper 3 Project.

Over the years, Mayuran worked on several significant projects, including the Dampier Port Upgrade Stockyard Expansion, BHP Rapid Growth 2, and the Rio Tinto Cape Lambert Upgrade 80MTPA Project.

Mayuran's dedication and hard work paid off in June 2009 when he was promoted to Lead Fabrication Engineer on the Robe Valley Development Project at MESA A.

After completing MESA A in August 2010, Mayuran made significant contributions to the EC division, working on various pivotal projects over the next six years in roles such as Senior Project Engineer and Area Engineer. His exemplary performance and leadership qualities were further recognised in 2016 when he was appointed Project Lead for the BHP MAC Water Treatment Plant Project. Mayuran later transitioned to the BHP South Flank Project, where he excelled in a lead role.

In 2021, Mayuran took on a new challenge as a Project Manager in the M&IS Mining and Minerals North West Region. Here, he has been instrumental in several key Water Projects, including the closeout of the Rio Marandoo Dewatering Sump Project, the Roy Hill RMARN Project, and the Rio HD1 Potable Water Project. Currently, Mayuran is managing the HD4 Potable Water Project, further showcasing his versatility and expertise.

Congratulations to Mayuran on 20 years of excellence at Monadelphous!
