Gladstone’s goal for zero

Sustainability
1 Minute Read

The Gladstone team working on the Train 1 and Train 2 Turnarounds banded together with other contractors in support of the Goal for Zero Gladstone initiative to raise funds for local charities.

The purpose of this initiative is to promote safety and reward the community for good work onsite; for every day that was completed injury-free, funds were raised for selected local charities in the local Gladstone area.

Brandon Sue, Contract Manager spoke of the initiative; “we get the satisfaction of helping contribute to a great cause. Not only do we have a way to promote safety within our teams, but we are also giving back to the community where we work.

We work at most sites in town, so this is a great way to show our commitment to the local community.”

Overall, the initiative raised close to $100k and the Monadelphous team played a huge part in this. The donations will go to a variety of charities including:

  • Calliope Men’s Shed
  • Communities for Children
  • South End Progress Association
  • Mt Larcom RSL
  • Gladstone Wildlife Carers
  • Young People Making a Difference
  • Softly Helping You
  • University of the Third Age
  • Westowe Rural Fire Brigade
  • Ride 4 Lives Australia (Gladstone chapter)
  • Gladstone Aboriginal & Islanders Co-Operative Society
