Welcome to another exciting edition of The Pipeline!

As we head toward the end of the year, it’s a great time to reflect on our progress and, most importantly, remember to stay safe and take care of one another.

First off, I’m thrilled to announce the launch of our Community Grants program in Bunbury! This is a fantastic opportunity for us to give back to the community. Grants of up to $2000 are now available, so don’t miss your chance! Click here to apply or learn more. Applications close in November, so be sure to get yours in soon.

In the south-west region, we secured a new three-year contract for the provision of minor project works at South32’s Worsley Alumina operations. This award follows the maintenance and shutdown services contract extension we were awarded last month. This award is testament to our proven track record at Worsley Alumina, where we have been providing services for almost 20 years.

Over the last 12 months, we’ve been fortunate to welcome many talented new faces to the MMS family. Each new team member brings their own unique blend of skills, experience, and enthusiasm, adding to the success of our projects and enriching our team culture. A warm welcome to everyone who has joined us!

In an exciting collaboration with local businesses, including the Chamber of Minerals and Energy (CME), we recently helped promote STEM careers in WA’s resource sector at the annual Newton Moore STEM Fair in Bunbury. The fair was a hive of activity, sparking innovation and learning.

We also had the pleasure of catching up with Skylar, one of our incredible team members. Skylar’s journey with us began in August 2022 as an Administration Officer on the Bunbury team. Thanks to the support she received from the Indigenous Pathway Program (IPP), along with the guidance of mentors like Claudia Bellis and Matt Macfarlane, Skylar began reflecting on her career goals.

R U Ok? Day is an annual event held every September. It’s an important reminder to check in with family, friends and workmates. This year, to mark the occasion, Monos created a special podcast, the 'Authentic Connection' series, with our Executive General Managers in collaboration with the Resilience Project. The series covers topics like vulnerability, embracing imperfections and how finding your passion can have a big impact on your life. It’s a fantastic watch and a great way to get to know some of our leaders. Our team in Kalgoorlie also hosted an R U Ok? Day BBQ, where they shared the importance of checking in, especially when busy.

Did you know that, unlike most recyclables, protective eyewear is made from polycarbonate? This material is incredibly durable but, unfortunately, lingers in landfills. Thanks to HSE Advisor Jessica Perry, our new SafeStyle Recycling bin is ready to accept all your old or broken protective eyewear—regardless of brand or condition. Let’s do our part to keep our waste down!

Finally, don’t forget to keep the Monos Moments coming! August and September were jam-packed with fantastic entries. Keep celebrating your teammates' hard work by submitting those nominations and acknowledging their efforts!

Stay safe, everyone, and keep up the great work!

Cheers,

Paul
