Each month, Monos Moments recognises the people who go above and beyond, step up, support their teams, and deliver work the right way.

The month’s winner stood out with two well-deserved nominations.

Cameron Muir

Cam stepped outside his usual role to support the Biomass Reclaimer Screw Change-Out down at Worsley Alumina, providing lift oversight and coordination to ensure high-risk works were planned and executed safely. His proactive approach, clear communication, and willingness to step in where needed helped maintain workflow continuity and strengthen collaboration across teams.

He was also recognised for his actions after the wet weather that impacted the Southwest following Cyclone Narelle, where he led his team to safely install a large tarp over a roof after flooding impacted the electrical distribution centre. Despite challenging conditions, Cam ensured risks were managed and the job was completed safely.

We also saw several standout contributions across our sites. So, congratulations to all involved!

Daniel McNaughton -  Dan’s problem-solving and persistence kept critical deslimes tank works on track after a fabrication issue was identified. By investigating the root cause and developing a practical solution, he avoided costly delays and ensured the job progressed to meet client expectations over in Roxby Downs.

Gareth Roberts - Gareth demonstrated true commitment to “the safe way is the only way” by redesigning a task to eliminate working at heights. By fabricating and extending handrails, he improved safety outcomes and made future maintenance easier at our Muja operations.

Jaco Van Niekerk - Jaco has stepped confidently into his relatively new role as Production Coordinator, bringing structure, clarity and improved efficiency across multiple projects down at RTW.

Jamie Miteff - Jamie’s attention to detail and cross-team collaboration prevented a major delay by identifying non-compliant HV cable and sourcing a suitable alternative onsite. His actions turned a potential 12-week delay into a single shift impact, keeping progress and cash flow on track at Olympic Dam.

Jason & Ed Smit - Jason and Ed introduced an innovative, practical solution to control dropped objects in the ESP area at Worsley Alumina, improving safety through a rope-fly system and secure transfer methods.

Luke Green - Luke’s attitude says it all, no job is too small. From proactively maintaining the yard to reduce fire risk to supporting the team wherever needed, he continues to set a strong example as a valued leading hand in the Southwest.

Madelyn Jabs - Maddie built and led a high-performing shutdown team that delivered ahead of schedule with outstanding safety and quality. Her attention to detail and ability to bring together a strong crew not only ensured success but also strengthened client relationships for the future.

Manuela Lascaux - Since arriving onsite, Manuela has been a strong driver of positive safety behaviours, holding others accountable while leading by example. Her can-do attitude and willingness to support across teams are helping lift standards across the site at Tanami.

The team at MUJA - Jason Bateman, Brock Scanlon and Joe Lines - This crew went above and beyond to resolve a major blockage in the 6D coal bunker. Tackling tough conditions, they spent over five hours rodding to clear material that had hardened to a clay-like consistency.

Timi Sione - During the March shutdown at Tanami, Timi stepped up to lead the dayshift scaffolding crew, including subcontractors. His leadership, safety focus and commitment to doing the job right made a strong impact across the team.
