In the growing lithium sector, we have been awarded two contracts at Albemarle Lithium’s operations in Kemerton, WA. The five-year contracts, which are for maintenance services and sustaining capital projects and have two-year extension options, build on the strong relationship our Engineering Construction (EC) division developed with the customer through the construction phase of the Kemerton lithium hydroxide plant.
This contract award follows the excellent work the EC teams completed on both the structural, mechanical, piping (SMP) package of work and electrical and instrumentation (E&I) works – a great demonstration of teamwork across Monadelphous.
Our team in WA’s South-West is well positioned to work closely with Albemarle as they develop their processes from the ground up at one of the world’s largest lithium production facilities.
Project Managers Kate Baker and Chad Sellenger have been instrumental in setting us up for success, overseeing commissioning activities on site following the completion and close out of construction works.
Kate said that the team is now building on these strong foundations, proving our service capabilities in fabrication, pipe work, chute work and sub-contractor management.
“To ensure we deliver for the customer, we have a highly experienced and safety focused team in place at Kemerton, backed by our mature systems and HSEQ processes,” she said.
“Our highest priority is to lead by example on site by championing a robust, professional safety culture right from the start and to work in partnership with our customer to bring them along on the safety journey.”
The significant contract award will also create more opportunities for our local workforce as well as for the business, such as fabrication work for RTW.
Well done to everyone involved in securing this contract, which helps us to continue to diversify our customer base and expand our footprint in the South-West region.
