1 Minute Read

At the recent Maintenance and Industrial Services leadership conference people from around the business were asked to present an idea or innovation in an exhibition style event.

Our Mining and Minerals Southern Region booths got plenty of traction, so we thought we should share with you what was presented to the division, in the hope to spark more innovative ideas.

Topic: 3D Printed Battery Tool Holder

Presented by: Chad Sellenger

Simple yet effective, the south west team developed the 3D printed battery tool holder, a great storage solution for Worsley's stationary tool store. Applying the Lean 5S principles, they were able to set up correct and standardise storage plus create a designated place for the tools, which helps to extend the life of the tool. Not to mention it is also a cost-effective solution, with each battery holder closing less than $1 to produce.

Topic: Welding fume management on-gun fume extraction

Presented by: Jason Parslow and Luke Ryan

The on-gun fume extraction initiative is one we close to implementing in Kalgoorlie. Essentially the machine is designed to help capture 98% of welding fumes produced, before they enter the environment, therefore protecting all personnel in the work area, not just the welder. Check out the video here to see it in action.

Topic: MEX Maintenance Software

Presented by: Tim Harrison and Lance Duda

MEX is best described as a computerised maintenance management system. MEX Stores provides you with comprehensive control over your inventory. Seamlessly integrated with all MEX maintenance functionality and allows you to streamline your operations and optimise your inventory management process – amongst many other benefits!

Topic:  The Pipeline, recruitment, and communication tool

Presented by: Frank Jackson

The Pipeline online portal was developed to ensure that our people could easily access all upcoming work available in the Mining and Minerals Southern region and express their interest within seconds. This innovative platform has transformed the way we manage work allocation.

As always, we look for ways to innovate our everyday operations is something that can help make our jobs easier, safer and more efficient – every idea, whether it’s big or small, is welcome in our business.

We encourage you to share your ideas via MProve, by emailing our innovation team innovation@monadel.com.au or by speaking to your supervisor.
