As we close out the financial year, I want to take a moment to reflect on how far we’ve come and acknowledge the efforts of every individual who has helped us get here.
We successfully concluded major works at Kathleen Valley which demonstrated the significant depth of capability across our business. We closed out our works on the Kemerton Lithium Plant and the Greenbushes CGP3 team also achieved a major milestone with the completion of the Dry Plant construction, delivered in mid-February. This outcome highlights the team’s commitment to delivery excellence and collaboration.
At Western Range, our team completed a major shutdown to an exceptional standard, with our customer nominating us for a Supplier of the Year Award in recognition. It’s a proud moment for all involved, and that level of performance has led to further scopes of work being secured with Rio Tinto.
We commenced works at Prominent Hill and our strong performance has led to additional scope being awarded to the team. This project has demonstrated the strong capability to deliver integrated Projects with Melchor, Inteforge, Heavy Lift and Electrical and Instrumentation all involved in the execution of work.
After almost three years of work by our pre-contracts team we secured the Pluto Train 1 Modifications Project which mobilised earlier this year. We are coming up on our first area completion date and have installed the first of the major modules using the gantry crane. There is a lot of work ahead of us and the Project is still increasing its personnel numbers throughout this year.
Our tendering activity remains strong, and we’re seeing growing interest across a broad client base. While project timelines continue to slip in some areas, the pipeline of opportunity hasn’t slowed. We’re seeing increased early contractor involvement and great feedback flowing in, which is a real credit to the relationships and reputation you’ve all built in delivering what we promise.
We were also proud to support our first community grants program launched last year in the South-West. It was fantastic to see such diverse organisations participating, all with a shared goal of improving outcomes in their local area. We finished the year off with our attention landing closer to home, as we committed funds to the Victoria Park Men’s Shed. Supporting the communities in which we operate remains a key focus and it’s important that we continue giving back through grassroots initiatives like this. It is a good feeling to know that our support will make a difference to others in need.
It’s been a challenging year for safety. Despite the many things we’ve achieved, our safety performance has not been where it needs to be. We continue to see recurring issues where risks and hazards aren’t being properly assessed or managed.
Each of us has a role to play in keeping ourselves and our workmates safe. That means taking the time to assess the risks properly, using the tools and processes available to us, and never hesitating to speak up when something doesn’t feel right. Safety isn’t a box to tick - it’s a mindset and a shared responsibility.
There is nothing more important than ensuring that you and your work mates go home safely each day. The safe way is the only way. We’ve shown time and again what we’re capable of when we work together and I’m confident that with renewed focus and consistency, we’ll move the dial in the right direction. Your safety matters. Let’s make it count.
A heartfelt thank you for your commitment and contribution over the past twelve months. I look forward to sharing more updates as we head into a new financial year full of opportunity.
