Leadership Updates
1 Minute Read

G’day everyone,

Firstly, I want to congratulate our team at Mount Arthur Coal in New South Wales who are the latest recipient of the M&IS Teamwork Baton. The dedicated crew are extremely deserving of this award as they worked collaboratively to address a safety challenge for our customer, adapting quickly and delivering a solution. You can read more here. In other exciting news, we have recently acquired BMC, a maintenance services contractor located in Morwell in the Gippsland region of Victoria. BMC specialise in exotic materials welding, high voltage and instrumentation installation, calibration and maintenance, which will be a great addition to our suite of services.

You can probably remember in the last edition of In the Loop I spoke about our Employee Survey feedback. As a business, we have now made a number of commitments aimed at improving our employee experience. From here, I will work with our teams on what actions we will take. Key areas include respect, flexibility, career growth and training, communications, recognition, remuneration, benefits, rosters and onboarding.

Back to our operations now, in addition to the good project work happening right across our region, we have been making a difference in the community, including participating in the Cleanathon at Lihir Island in PNG and a careers expo in Gladstone.

The past week (27 May – 3 June 2023) marked National Reconciliation Week, which you can read more about in this edition. I’m also proud to share that we recently sponsored the Yallarm STEM Camp, which is an example of a meaningful action we can take as a business to strengthen relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous peoples.

Finally, we hear from Georgia Sweetapple who recently joined our team in Mount Thorley, from Brisbane, as part of our Graduate Program. It’s great to be able to provide graduates with opportunities and experience throughout our business.

Finally, I would like to congratulate our team at iPipe Services on 10 years of operation. Monadelphous acquired iPipe in 2019 and it’s been fantastic to see it grow and continue to deliver innovative pipeline solutions for our customers. Well done all!

Stay safe everyone, and I look forward to bringing you more news soon.
