Supporting enhanced training in Papua New Guinea

In a boost to technical education, Monadelphous, in collaboration with our customer’s not-for-profit, the Santos Foundation, facilitated a much-needed donation of a vehicle and essential equipment to a local school, Pimaga Vocational Education and Technical School in the Southern Highlands region of Papua New Guinea (PNG).

This initiative equips mechanical works students with practical skills and aligns with Papua New Guinea’s Vision 2050, focusing on youth empowerment and workforce readiness.

With the great work Santos Foundation is doing, we wanted to play our part by providing a vehicle so that mechanical students can engage in practical lessons,” Brendon McNamara, our PNG Site Manager said.

“Collaborating with contractors who share our community-focused goals allows us to uplift skills, create jobs, and improve livelihoods,” Duncan Hundley, Santos Regional Manager said.

“This connection reflects the vision of ‘everybody together equals success,’ fostering positive, long-term impacts for Pimaga VET students and the community.

“By supporting Pimaga VET, we’re building local talent and strengthening community connections.”

The donated vehicle will serve as a learning tool, enabling students to apply classroom knowledge in real-world scenarios.

Monadelphous has been in PNG for more than 17 years, and earlier this year, the PNG team reached a significant milestone, completing the ADD1/ADT4 Flowline Repairs project, using a workforce comprised of all PNG nationals.
