Leadership Updates
1 Minute Read

Welcome to this month’s edition of Ramp Up.

Firstly, I want to thank everyone for their support as we are continuing to adapt to the ongoing challenges that COVID brings us. By adhering to the measures we have in place, such as our testing regime, minimising congregation levels and sanitising, you are helping to keep case numbers low and, most importantly, to keep our people and communities healthy and safe.

Safety is paramount in everything we do and we all play a vital role in preventing incidents from occurring by speaking up and keeping one another safe.  It is our number one priority to ensure that everyone goes home safely to family and friends and this is something we should always strive to improve on.

Over the past 12 months, we have been serious incident free, a result of the incredible effort our teams put into looking out for each other and focusing on safety, particularly in the high-risk elements of their tasks.  However, over this same period, we have experienced a rise in recordable events which means we must work together to do better and ensure a safer work environment for everyone.  The incidents seem to be occurring particularly around more simple activities such as moving around facilities or setting up for more complex tasks.  Improving safety performance means a constant effort from everyone.

We are currently in a high workload period, with this ‘year of shutdowns’ representing both an exciting phase of growth for our offshore operations and an increased need for skilled people to support us in delivering this work.  With new people joining our teams, we will also be working to ensure that everyone receives the support and guidance they need to work safely.

Our strong pipeline of work is testament to everyone’s dedication and commitment to working together and delivering outstanding outcomes for our customers.  Thank you all for your hard work in 2022 so far – I look forward to seeing what we achieve in the remainder of the year.

In the meantime, in this edition meet Sarah Stinten one of our long-term employees in Karratha, learn more about our work on lifeboats in Darwin and read how our crews managed a challenging situation on Stormpetrel.

Until next time, please stay safe.

Doug.
