Strengthening our reconciliation journey in Darwin and Karratha

As we continue celebrating the launch of Monadelphous’ fifth Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and third Stretch RAP, we recently brought together employees, community partners, Traditional Owners and Indigenous businesses in Darwin and Karratha. While the RAP was officially launched in Perth and Brisbane earlier this year, these regional events provided an opportunity to celebrate its significance in the communities where we work.

Darwin’s RAP launch featured a Welcome to Country by proud Larrakia man and Community Legal Educator for the Northern Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency, James Parfitt-Fejo. The event was attended by customer representatives and Indigenous project delivery partners, alongside the Monadelphous team. The launch was an opportunity to connect with the local community, and highlighted the importance of reconciliation, cultural connection and strong local partnerships.

In Karratha, Ngarluma Elder, Kerry Anne Churnside delivered a Welcome to Country, with the event hosted at our Gap Ridge facility. The launch also created valuable networking opportunities, strengthening connections between Monadelphous, clients and local Indigenous businesses across the Pilbara.

These regional launches reinforced the company’s commitment to strengthening relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through Indigenous employment, business development and community engagement, while embedding reconciliation into everyday business practices.
