Leadership Updates
1 Minute Read

Welcome back to The Pipeline, bringing you the latest news from across the Mining and Minerals Southern Region.

This month I joined some of our Goldfields team at the annual KBCCI 'What's Down the Track' Forum & Exhibition, representing Monadelphous as sponsors of the event. It was a great opportunity to learn about the key initiatives and forecasted growth within the Kalgoorlie-Boulder region and to hear from other operators and leaders from different industries.

In October, we received a huge number of nominations for Monos Moments which was fantastic to see – please keep them coming in! I was pleased to award seven in total this month, including:

  • Larry Sanford from Muja, nominated twice for being a great role model to others.
  • Michelle Fredericks from MMS Perth for implementing effective leadership strategies and mentoring multiple accounting graduates.
  • Ryan Rowe and his crew from Roxby Downs for showing good awareness of safety risks in their area, stopping work and making the client aware.
  • Ross Sinclair and Dave Albinson (Shift 2 Operations Crew) at KMK Cogen for working together to develop a repair plan on a significant steam leak.
  • The RTW workshop and paint-yard team involved in the Busselton Performing Arts and Convention Centre Project for stepping up despite challenges to stay on schedule.
  • Muriel Booyens, new to our Roxby Downs team and very quickly having a positive impact on the branch’s financial position.
  • Samuel De Laine from Roxby Downs for being proactive in ensuring compliance with safety expectations and driving our strong safety culture.

Monos Moments are about recognising people for going above and beyond and displaying our core values, so if you know a worthy individual or team, nominate them here.

In closing, I just want to encourage you all as we move into the festive season, to keep up the unwavering focus on working safely. In September, the whole Maintenance & Industrial Services division achieved our first month in four years without any recordable injuries – a great result and one which shows what we are capable of.

It is our absolute priority to make sure everyone goes home safe and well at the end of each day so, as always, please stay safe and look out for one another.

Paul
