Across the country, our teams marked International Women’s Day (IWD) 2026 by strengthening their professional networks and celebrating the contributions of women in our workplaces.
This year’s United Nations Women theme, Balance the Scales, is a reminder that every woman and girl should be safe, and feel free to shape their own lives. At Monadelphous, we continue supporting what truly enables women to access opportunities, build capability, and reach their full potential.
This IWD, we focused on the power of connection to help women step into new opportunities, build sponsorship, and navigate their careers with stronger support behind them.
Over 120 people joined us in person and online for our guest panel discussion, featuring Jade Singleton, NAWO WA Committee member and AECOM Sector Manager, and Dr Stephanie Black, AREEA Policy and Programs Manager. Alongside Monadelphous team members Meagan Clothier, Commercial Manager, Giorgi Piesse, HR Officer, and facilitator Paige Griffiths, newly appointed Operations Manager for Heavy Lift, the conversation explored the value of strong workplace relationships and how networking and mentoring can support career growth. Free memberships to NAWO and AREEA remain open throughout the year.
Earlier that same week, team members across our metro and regional teams attended local industry events. Celebrating with their peers at The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Western Australia, The Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, Karratha and Districts Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and The Chinchilla Chamber of Commerce and Industry, our people enjoyed connecting with their professional networks and hearing from local inspiring leaders. Natalia Monden, Recruitment Support Officer, was lucky enough to hear from TEDx keynote speaker and founder of Angelhands, Dr Ann O’Neill AO, saying, “Her message encouraged me to reflect on the kind of leadership that can genuinely support people in the workplace”.
Our Melchor team members came together over morning tea and to give back to our community partner, Starick Foundation, by donating a portion of IWD shirt sales. Across Bunbury and BMC in Victoria, our teams celebrated over great food and good conversation, while in Darwin, the ILNG team hosted an afternoon tea and presented their annual Women’s Awards. Congratulations to this year’s recipients: Latina Cagney (Young Achiever Award), Louise Waddell (Leadership Award) and Alana Collings (Leading the Safe Way Award).
Across every site, office and team, these events reflect our commitment to creating workplaces where equity is part of everyday practice. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped bring this year’s IWD celebrations to life. Together as a business, we continue taking meaningful steps toward balancing the scales.
