Leadership Updates EC
2 Minute Read

Welcome to this month’s edition of Around the Sites.

We recently secured a multidisciplinary construction contract at BHP’s Prominent Hill Expansion Project, a copper, silver, and gold mine in Mount Eba, South Australia. The work involves the supply, fabrication, and installation associated with the surface materials handling system, winder building, and hoist, with work expected to be completed in the second half of 2025. This project is also our first integrated delivery with our newly acquired civil business, Melchor. The combined team will mobilise to site this month, marking an exciting new chapter as we bring together our strengths and capabilities. We’re looking forward to seeing this integrated project in action.

On the projects front:

  • CGP3: It’s a busy location with high activity levels, and safety remains our top priority. I’m proud of how the team have responded over recent weeks. Let’s continue to plan tasks carefully and ensure controls are in place to prevent incidents.
  • Western Range: The team has been making a strong impact on-site, gaining additional work that’s extending their time there, completing a variety of tasks across the site. Well done to everyone on-site for keeping up the hard work and maintaining such a high standard.
  • Prominent Hill: This is our first integrated project delivery with our newly acquired civil business, Melchor, now part of the team. Mobilisation to the site begins this month.
  • Pluto 1: The team is currently busy with pre-mobilisation works in preparation for mobilisation in Q1 2025.

Across our works it's great to see people being recognised for their actions, ideas and innovations, dedication and hard work.

Congratulations to Tinny Time winner, Sandy Kelly at CGP3. Sandy was recognised for ‘Helping Out’ by helping a fellow worker in need.

Congratulations to Wade and Chris, who recently received a ‘Highly Commended’ award in the Best Solution to a Work Health and Safety Risk category at the National Safety Council of Australia (NSCA) Safety Awards of Excellence. Their innovative ‘Stringer Strangler’ solution showcases our commitment to advancing safety across all projects. Check out their award-winning work in action here.

We were delighted to be able to acknowledge our hardworking EC Recruitment team with the EC Teamwork Baton for their dedicated efforts in recruiting blue- and white-collar personnel for the Western Range Project. Their work has been essential in supporting site needs and reflects the teamwork and commitment that are core to our values.

Lastly, as we approach the end of the year, we have commenced the Finishing Strong, Starting Stronger campaign across our operations. This initiative focuses on providing resources and information to support our teams’ wellbeing as we approach the year-end. Each month, we’ll spotlight different topics, all with the goal of helping us maintain safety and wellness in our work and personal lives.

Thank you all for your hard work and commitment to excellence. Let’s stay safe, stay focused, and continue building on our achievements.

The Safe Way is The Only Way.
